What’s the buzz about iPhone 4 in Greece?

I really have no idea! But it is going on sale in Greece, August 27! That’s a fact creating a huge excitement among smart phones freaks. That’s why I have translated a short guide for smart phone users and potentially frustrated buyers. To me iphone 4 is Unknown-Land. Most probably it’s a magic phone that walks your dog, serves the morning coffee and writes the shopping list. As I use 10% of my brain, 1% of my mobile and 1,5% of my Personal Computer capacities, an iPhone is something I wouldn’t care to buy … I’m simply too lazy to learn all the things I have to in order to take advantage of its clever 200.000 (?) applications.
According to iPhone Hellas, the official website, some important facts are :
Prices: EUR 659 for 16GB and
EUR 779 for 32GB.
-The amount of iPhones 4 to be sold in Greece will be minimal.
-You will find them at Cosmote, Germanos and Oteshops, while Vodaphone is going to distribute it commercially ”soon”.
-As from today every shop has one demo device.
-Having signed a “letter of interest” does not mean you have pre-ordered and booked an iPhone….
-Check with Cosmote for contract pricing.
-The devices will be sold according to a priority list that includes: Phone number transfer, new contract and contract renewal.
-Thinking about buying the device without contract? iPhone Hellas says: Forget it!
Price with contract – in comparison:
USA: $ 199 for 16GB, $ 299 for 32GB
Germany: EUR 369 – 655 for 16GB and EUR 500 – 786 for 32 GB
Caution for left handed people (like me lol)
“Some iPhone 4 buyers have reported signal reduction when the phone is held in certain ways, especially in the left hand, as the antenna problem is in the bottom left corner of the phone’s side casing.” Now I have an official reason not to buy one …..
