Greek Ministries spend 19 million euros on …rubbers!

In times of modern technologies the “rubber” is a species that dies out. Hardly someone who is over 15 and is not working at certain professions uses a rubber to erase wrong lines, orthography mistakes and false arithmetic results. The rubber is dying out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God, Greek Ministers are sensitive to preserve species under threat and in danger of  extincion and invest in their protection.

Whole EUR 19.000.000 (no typo! nineteen million euros!) was spent in rubbers by eco-friendly Greek ministers in a period of five years.

K. Aivaliotis, MP from far -right opposition party,  revealed data about ministries’ spending, documents bearing the signatures of ministers from 2004 to 2009.

Ministries spent 12.000.000 euros (no typo!) in receptions. Just two New Years pies ( a tradition in Greece) costed the Greek taxpayer 11.000 euro. Taxpayer payed the pie, others ate it, of course!

The Defense Ministry spent 2 million in newspapers!

Telephone bills reached the amount of 100.000.000  euros

Ministers got 3.899 liters of gasoline for free and the Minister for Public Order spent 8,000 euro for his car’s tires.

Why not? It wasn’t their own money….

A friend of mine is seeking for rubbers able to erase ministers….
