Kiosks & Mini Markets: some strike, some not! UPDATE
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Society
Kiosks and mini markets all over Greece will be closed for three days, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, October 22-24, the Federation of Kiosks owners had decided. Thus 40 Kiosks owners will start a hunger strike outside the Ministry of Finance.
They note in a written statement that they are unable to sell tobacco products and mobile phone cards with an average profit of 3%.
More than 1,200 outlets have been closed down because of the harsh economic situation they face.
So, starting today you can go and cover with supplies like cigarettes, chewing gums and whatever else you usually buy from a kiosk. Of course, you will be unable to buy newspapers.
In fact it is a good opportunity to live smoke- and news-free for three days. Or you just check KeepTalkingGreece for news.
