“Helloooo, Mister Bluuue-Eyes!” The tall, slim, fully blossomed blond is holding the microphone towards one of the IMF officials, currently in Athens to check and deeply research Greece’s economic data.
“Mister Blues-Eyes! Are you gonna be gentle with Greece?” she asks him in arch and ambiguous manner. Mr Blue-Eyes, Poul Thomsen, looks away kind of helpless and enters the limousine without a word.
The blond is the former TV Weather Girl, Petroula Kostidou, who tries to make carier in a new profession. That is Journalism!
“Claaaaus, Pauuul!….. ” Petroula cutely calls the IMF boys by their first names. As they turn their back to her, she can’t help but blowing kisses to them.
No IMF official manages to enter or exit a Ministry in Athens without being confronted with the guarding glance and penetrating questions of Greece’s famous blond. Dressed in modest but sexy clothes and holding the microphone in a professional manner, Petroula tries to get her place among the crowds of journalists, bureaucrats and economists, dealing with loans, bailouts, data and diagrams.

It is for sure some of the glorious moments in the Greek media landscape, the moment Petroula decided to change position and ambition: from former Star TV “Weather Girl” to Hard Core Economy reporter.
Who cares if IMF boys won’t answer her questions and ignore her? Greeks get a good laugh amid the souls wringing and wallets twisting economic situation.
Furthermore, the IMF boys have been so far too good at creating a positive atmosphere – whether with their expensive renting flat or with Petroula -; since the very first moment they decided to settle down in Athens.
