Kalymnos: Donations for a … Holy Slipper

Scammers’ imagination has no limits (and we need a break from IMF reporting ).
A woman has been wandering around on the island of Kalymnos lately asking for donations. In her hands she was holding a box containing a slipper, she claimed it belonged to a saint! She was asking believers to give a donation so a church can be built for the (slipper-less) Saint!
It has not been revealed whether the woman was in possession of the left or right holy house shoe.
According to KalymniansVoice Kalymnos Metropolit Paisios revealed that the slipper belonged indeed to a Saint, yet that he has not been officially recognised as such by the Orthodox Church. The Metropolit warned believers to be cautious of scammers and not be scandalized by the “several slippers wandering around” (sic!).
What can I say? “Holy Slipper!”
