Athens: Umebayashi’s Music & Master Class, Dec 4-5

Outstanding event with a unique composer! The star of  Shigeru Umebayashi will shine for the first time in Athens and embrace us with his  fascinating music next weekend.

Shigeru Umebayashi, aka Ume, a  film composer from Japan has become famous worldwide with his soundtrack for the films “2046” and  ”In the Mood for Love”. Ume has created a whole new trend of friends for cinema soundtracks due to his exceptional and brilliant melodies. He has more than 40 Japanese and Chinese films to his credit.

 The concerts and the Master Class will be performed  at Michalis  Cacoyannis Foundation. He will give two concerts on Saturday, December 4 and one on Sunday, December 5, 2010. On Saturday morning he will give a Master Class for those interested in film music composing.

Ume’s compositions will be performed by the Oticons Orchestra and Choir that will be conducted by Dirk Brossé. The famous Belgian conductor was chosen by composer John Williams to conduct the world tour of “Star Wars in Concert” in 2009.

Greek singer Savina Yannatou will add a very special touch to the evening.

For Umebayashi and Brossét is the first time they appear before audience in  Greece.
