IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn will be starting his two-days visit to Athens today under the massive protests of Greek opponents of the IMF/EU-Greece bailout Memorandum.
While Strauss-Kahn will be holding meeting with Prime Minister George Papandreou, President Karolos Papoulias and main opposition leader Antonis Samaras, trade unions of public and private sector and left-wing parties will “party” outside or near the Greek Parliament.
“Strauss-Kahn is not welcomed here” said P. Lafazanis from SYRIZA.
There is one rally at 05:00 p.m. at Klathmonos Square.
At the time Strauss-Kahn will be addressing the Parliament’s finance committee at 06:30 a second rally will take place just outside the Parliament at Syntagma Square.
Due to the extensive riots of Monday, Strauss-Kahn’s security decided to relocate the IMF Chief and he won’t be residing in a hotel downtown Athens. The new hotel remains a secret.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn will discuss the extension of the repayment of the EUR 11 billion loan.
