New Year’s Eve with Atenistas!

Got no plans for New Year’s Eve? See “no rosy future” in meeting your relatives again? Fed up with planning another great dinner?

Why don’t you join the Atenistas on their big open to everyone New Year’s Eve Street Party, on December 31, 2010? They are set to have all Athenians take part to a big event, no matter if they work or just walk around!

The Party has two legs: yours and those of the schedule:

1) You can join the Party as early as 10 o’ clock in the evening in Kotzia Square (opposite the Athens Municipality Building).

The group will walk through the streets of Athens downtown with music (most probably Gospels), give sweet treats to passers by and finish the Happy New Year March at Ermou/Kapnikareas corner.

2) The countdown for 2011 starts at the corner Ermou & Kapnikareas Street ( see Ermou 50).

You can join it at 11.30 p.m. Group Batala with percussions will create a cracker atmosphere, while hot & spicy Finnish Gluhwein will warm up your hands, legs  and ears.

If you join leg 1, you’d better bring a box of traditional Greek sweets like Kourampiedes or Melomakarona or something more easy to give away: small chocolates. Maybe a thermos full of coffee and some plastic cups to distribute something hot to the homeless?

If you join leg 2 you can bring just some drinks, some friends, some smiles…

It doesn’t matter if you can not bring anything… Just Join and Enjoy!

PS:Atenistas need some volunteers to set up the arrangements for the Party. You can go and help at 10.30 p.m. / Kotzia Square. or Contact them in advance at their official website.
