Athens: Updates/Chaos as Public Transport workers announce new strikes

Another “Passion Week” started for residents of Athens as Public Transport workers announced new strikes and stoppages. If you belong to the class of people using public transport, you have no car and you can’t afford a taxi, you are scr*w*d this week as well. I advice you to take notice of the strike and work stoppages schedule and check occasionally for updates and changes.
Tuesday, January 11:
Metro and Tram will operate normally! No buses 11 am – 15.30 pm. No Trolley 11 am-15 pm. No Urban Train-HSAP 12 noon-4 pm.
Furthermore, Urban Train workers will not issue or control tickets from swift start (5 am?) until 8 am.
UPDATES ! UPDATES ! Wednesday, January 12:
No Buses 11 am – 3.30 pm.
No Trolley 11 am-3 pm.
Urban train and Metro will operate normally 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Tram will operate normally.
Thurday, January 13:
24 hours strike! No Buses and Trolley.
No Metro 12 noon-4 pm. No Urban train 12 noon-4 pm.
Another Passion Week ahead
Protesting workers are planning new strikes and stoppages for the following week as well, January 17, 19 and 20.
Public Transport Companies managements consider to take worker unions to court.
Government: Hostage to Trade Unions?
While anger is growing among citizens, Greek government is watching indifferent and has found no ways so far to protect the public.
Greek Transport minister, Dimitris Reppas, criticized public transport workers saying that strikes and stoppages mainly affect the non-wealthy citizens.
He noted that the possibility of requisitioning (civil mobilization orders) is a measure not ideal for daily use and that it doesn’t correspond to government policies. He claimed that the Ministry has developed alternative plans but did not elaborate.
