Hundreds cheered, chanted slogans and applauded as Apostolos Gletsos exited the prosecutor’s office in Lamia earlier today. An overwhelmed Gletsos hugged his supporters and shouted “I love you! I love you!”
The mayor of Stylida, who demolished highway toll barriers, was set free until his trial in April 2011.
Apostolos Gletsos spent last night in jail, after police arrested him following a prosecutor’s warrant.
The big crowd gathered outside the prison made it impossible for police to take him to prosecutor yesterday.

After his release, Apostolos Gletsos, returned to the highway toll booths together with his supporters, when again they lifted the barriers and let motorists drive without paying toll fees. Gletsos said, that he will continue the struggle for free passage until the end.
