What a Challenge! “Do Nothing For 2 Minutes”…
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Tech
Ca you imagine you do nothing for two whole minutes? I can surely do, however I have to stare at the sea…. Anyway, a website is challenging you to do nothing for two minutes while you ( or me lol) sit in front of your computer.
All you have to do is to stare for two long minutes at a screen site showing an awesome picture of a sunset over the ocean, while the sound of waves crashing on a beach is being played.
The moment you enter the site a timer starts running backwards – for two whole minutes.
Believe me that’s a real challenge as we all know that we can’t stand still in front of our PCs.
However the moment you touch the mouse or the keyboard, the two minutes- timer resets itself.
My Personal Do Nothing 2 Minutes Experiment
Ok, I tried it! I managed to stand still for whole 23 seconds! I had an inner impulse to find out more about the page, you know, “who, when, why”. So I opened a new window and went googling.
To make the short story long, as I had more windows open on my pc screen and surfed further and further and wrote some posts, and answered the phone, and had coffee, and went buying cigarettes, and had a sandwich and kept working …I totally forgot the Do Nothing site was open…
However while in front of the pc, I kept listening to the sound of waves without watching the picture ( I bet the timer had long given up!).
The first hour it was a pleasant sound, very much on the background. I realised it only from time to time.
In the second hour I started listen to it. In the third hour the sound came more forward, I had even the feeling it was louder.
Then it started annoying me lol. After having the waves crashing on a beach for 3,5 hours I closed the site caught by a slight adrenaline shot.

I tried this to the bitter end. I made it, but had to fight of falling asleep. Perhaps I will dig out some sort of mood clock that was given to me years ago, Perhaps listening to waves really does help you fall asleep. Although maybe i’m just knackered on the other hand it’s only 10am, go figure
Penny, I heard from another friend, he fell asleep too lol
