Athens: the Chocolate Museum will be open, Jan 29-30

Do you love the taste and smell  of chocolate? Is your favorite film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”? This weekend you have the opportunity to live unforgettable chocolate moments without the fear of turning into an XXL stretched boy or a giant blueberry girl;  Johny Depp and Willy  Wonka won’t be there…

It it the Pavlides Chocolate Factory, one of the oldest Greek Chocolate Factories, that invites young and old to their premises. On the occasion of  its150th birthday Pavlidis opens the doors to its Chocolate Museum.

I can still remember so damn well when we visited the Pavlidis factory some ages ago with the school class …  Our teachers had a real hard time to prevent a child from jumping into the huge tanks for a bath full of temptation and bubbling chocolate. Thanks God, the factory management had given to every child several chocolate bars, so we could  feed that oh-so-torturing chocolate craving :)

So on Saturday and Sunday visitors can feel a bit as I felt as a child…they can learn the long chocolate factory history,  how chocolate is made,  and of course, to taste chocolate bars.

There will be creative facilities for children.

The museum in cooperation with a local charity donates a percentage of the souvenirs it sells.

When: Saturday, Sunday, January 29-30, 2011. From 10 am to 8 pm.

Where? The Museum is located exactly at the back of Pavlidis Factory, Pireos (Piraeus) Avenue 135, Athens.
