Floods cause destruction in Rhodes and Kos (new videos)

Enormous is the destruction caused by the heavy rains on the islands of Rhodes and Kos. The rushing waters swept away everything in their path and turned roads into torrential rivers.
They transported mud, stones, trees, garbage bins, motorbikes and cars.

The overflown rivers on both island passed through houses and yards and took with them everything that was not pinned.

On Jan 28, 2011, the heavy rain that lasted three hours causing rivers to overflow.

The water masses  flooded squares, streets, houses, basements and agriculture fields, they drown cows, coats and sheep.

The tourists’s paradises Rhodes and Kos have been declared to be on a State of Emergency. Residents blame the authorities for not having concluded anti-floods constructions
