Greek Foreign Ministry: Three C-130 to evacuate Greeks from Alexandria, Feb 1

Greek Foreign Ministry announced that three C-130 military aircraft will depart the Elefsis military airport for Egypt’s Alexandria tomorrow morning at 9:00 am, February 1, 2011.
Currently there are 200 members of the Greek community in Alexandria who that wish to leave the country.
In the capital city, Cairo, the Greek community seems to feel more secure as ”only six teachers and no more than ten community members have applied for repatriation” Cairo Greek Community Chairman, Christos Kavalis stated.
Cairo international airport is open and thousands locals and foreigners are queueing to catch a seat and get a flight away from Egypt as the situation remains explosive.
