Greek JP Morgan Chief Executive seeks our Respect

Did you know that JP Morgan Chase chief executive is Greek? I personally didn’t know that until I stumbled upon a tweet by @GGWorld  aka Global Greek World. And yes, James “Jamie” Dimon is descent of “Anatolian Greeks” (?), as wikipedia notes.  He was born in New York City and managed to climb up all the hierarchy way up to JP Morgan Chase chief executive chair, or better say the throne of third-largest bank in the USA.

Now Reutershas a special report about Jamie Dimon, then the good Greek banker complained at Economic Forum of Davos, in fact he “lambasted the media and politicians for portraying all bankers as greedy evil-doers”.

Reuters stresses that it has been at least “12th time since the start of the financial crisis that Dimon has complained about Wall Street critics painting all bankers as cut from the same cloth. But the timing of his latest outburst seemed odd”.

Reuters Special Report: Jamie Dimon wants some R-E-S-P-E-C-T (sic!)

Should Jamie Dimon find the time to read about the JP Morgan -Greek government swap scandal transaction back in 2007, maybe he could understand why bankers do not have such a good reputation and people deny them the what-they-think “deserved respect” . Right?

Onthe other side of the Atlantic Ocean there are currenlty questions as to what extend JP Morgan was kind of “complicit” in Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme that deprived US citizens of millions of invested dollars. According to New York Times  ”JPMorgan Hid Doubts on Madoff” and US-based online news portal  Salon  questions “Is JPMorgan the new Goldman Sachs?”
