How about a walk on Athens Sea Side? (pictures)

It’s sunny but cold in Athens today and I’d better advice you to turn off you pc and go outside. Who wants to know about strikes and Greek economy on a sunny winter day? How about a walk on the Athens Sea Side?

My favorite place to take deep breathes full of oxygen and iodine the promenade at Palaio Faliro.

Too cold to take a sea bath? For some it’s not…

It’s a lovely walk path along the sea side, some 3 km long.

I usually start from the east and go towards west. I start from “Edem” and walk up to Flisvos and the Faliro Marina.

…where you can enjoy a coffee, a snack or a real lunch.

Meet the promenade Residents

A bag of kitty snacks for the strays?

On a warmer day you will see lots of people walking up and down the promenade, jogging, biking and just sit at the bences. When I took the pictures, two weeks ago, it was rather late and freezing cold. Therefore the area seems a bit abandoned. But it’s not!

Some music?

How to get there

Either by the Tramfrom downtown Athens, Syntagma Square ! Get out at Mousonstation, walk 50 metres to the promenade, turn right and cross the avenue.  Line 3 (SEF) goes down to Trocadero.

Or by your own car. Driver down the Syggrou Avenue and take the Glyfada exit.
