Greece’s Foreign and Defence Ministriesare readying to repatriate Greeks from Libya as the situation is getting more and more out of control, Gaddafi refuses to step down, his son threatens to create “rivers of blood” and security forces have killed more than 200 people in the last days.

FM Dimitris Droutsas announced that “two C-130 are ready to depart and evacuate Greeks  from Benghazi and Tripoli and …..”. Unfortunately state television NETabruptly cut the FM’s statement on air so I can’t give you any more information, like when these C-130 will depart.

250 Greeks live in Benghazi and Tripoli.

Meanwhile it has become known that the mission of  the Greek C-130 to Libya turns out as extremely difficult with Libyan leadership showing unwillingness to grant land and take off permission.

A Turksih airplane sent to Libya to evacuate Turkish citizens apparently flew back without result.
