Students lift Highway Barriers to protest Government’s Schools Merger plans

Primary and secondary school students continue their protests opposing Greek Ministry of Education plans to merge 1,933 schools across the country.  In many cities, towns and even villages students occupied their schools or organized demonstrations to oppose the merger bill  that often contains weird and more than paradox unification and closing downs.

For example in Makrichoriof the Tempi prefecture, the bill schedules that Gymnasium students of city A will transferred to High School building of city B and the High School students of city B will be transferred to Gymnasium building in city A! No wonder that the angry students, their parents and local official protested at the Highway Toll booth of their area, lifting the barriers for the motorists to pass for free ! Paradox bills create paradox reactions…. (watch video here )

In Athens  students, parents and even the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Greek governmentgathered outside the ministry trying to get an appointment with an official.  The new bill will shut down the doors of the high school in their area in southeast Attica basin . The group was staked out with the promise that “their request would be reviewed in a couple of weeks”.

Confusion and Troubles. I want to see one single bill that is well thought before it gets its final written form…
