Athens Court: Facebook at Work? You’re fired!

Love to chat with your Facebook friends while at work place? You’d better refrain from doing this. Then with such an economic crisis and recession it will be hard to get another job… A court in Athens justified the decision of the employer, an airline, to fire an employee without compensation for visiting the Facebook and other social networking sites while at work.
The employee kept on visiting the social media sites, despites the employer’s written warnings. The company had forbidden employee to use of social media since 2008.
the fired employee worked for the airline since 1989 and was responsible for tickets bookings.
