Athens: Public Transport schedules over Easter, Apr 22-25

There are special regulations for the public transport valid from Good Friday to Easter Monday, April 22-25, 2011. In general public transport will operate according to Sunday’s schedule.On Good Friday, main streets in cities will be closed to traffic due to the Epitafios procession -normally it starts at 8:30/9:00 pm and lasts approximately one hour. On Good Saturday, public tranport will be halted at 11:00 pm due to the Resurrection at 12:00, midnight.
Buses
On Holy Saturday, buses will be gradually withdrawn from service to return to depot by 11pm. The Sunday timetable will apply to all schedules on Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, while the Saturday schedule will apply on Good Friday and Easter Tuesday.
Trolleys
On Holy Saturday, trolleys will be gradually withdrawn from service to return to depot by 11pm. The Sunday timetable will apply to all schedules on Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, while the Saturday schedule will apply on Easter Tuesday. There will be route 11 night service on Holy Saturday or Easter Sunday.
Metro (red and blue lines)
From the beginning of the shift until 5pm on Good Friday, all routes will run at seven-minute intervals; thereafter at ten-minute intervals. On Holy Saturday, all services will run at ten-minute intervals, with the last train leaving Syntagma at 11pm. On Easter Sunday, the red line will run on 12-minute intervals, the blue on 10-minute intervals.
Ilektrikos (green line)
Trains will run every 10-11 minutes on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. On Easter Sunday and Monday, trains will run every 15 minutes on the Monastiraki-Piraeus route and on the Attiki-Kifisia route every 13 minutes. On Holy Saturday, the last trains will leave Attiki and Kifisia stations at 10.40pm, from Piraeus at 10.35pm and Monastiraki at 10.55pm. (source: AN )

Trams to run every 20 minutes on Good Friday and Easter Tuesday, 25 minutes from Holy Saturday to Easter Monday and 17 minutes from April 27-29.
