What’s Up in Greece, May 2?

Sun is shining, temperature rose, humidity is high and Osama Bin Laden is apparently killed and buried in the sea. Are these fact promising for a nice week? I am not that sure. The Troika-guys are due in Greece and launch threats about the release of the fifth loan 12 billion euro tranche. The Finance Ministry is about to announce the measures to combat tax evasion. The chapters of medium term finance policy are about to become public slowly but gradually and will bring new austerity and rises in V.A.T.

Meanwhile the debate about Greek debt restructuring is going on although the Greek Finance Ministry keeps saying: There is no need for debt restructure!

The hardship suffering Greek patient is again taken hostage to the war between the health ministry and the suppliers/pharmacists. Hospital suppliers launched a 3-days embargo due to payment delays by the ministry. Pharmacists refuse to give subscription medicine to the insurers of 5 insurance funds. People will have to pay the medicines from their own pockets.

More and more people I know are threatened by unemployment….

I am afraid we will have to spend our summer holidays in our balconies and have our feet swim in a plastic bowl full of water.

No wonder my spring allergy is killing me… Hatchi!
