A Greek village with a traditional mill, an oil press, a winery, a raki maker and a cheese maker will be set up in Athens. Experts from all over the country will show us how to make olive oil, wine, raki, and cheese :) Beekeeprs will be demonstrating their techniques and make honey sweets,  housewives will be making pies, pasta  and traditional dishes. Renowned chefs will create culinary highlights using local Greek products. At the same time dozens of producers from all over the country will exhibit products like Olive Oil, Olives, Honey, traditional Pasta, Greek cheese, meat products and cold cuts, Wines, jams and preserves, Spirits and … holy ghosts? Just kidding…

All these wonderful and tasty things will take place at the premises of the “Technopolis” located at the Gazi district of Athens.

The “Agro Quality Festival” is organized by the European Agency for Strategic Planning and AGROCERT, the government agency responsible for Certification and Supervision of Agricultural Products. The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.

As much as I understood the products are bio/organic and have been officially certified by name and geographic area.

There will be also a Conference on Rural Entrepreneurship (OPS! That’s for me and my countryside fantasy! hehe) and one one Green marketing and Export, there will be business meetings and contacts with representatives of producers of commercial networks in Greece and abroad, tour operators, commercial attachés of foreign countries and others.

Aaaand other events like: The 2nd Panhellenic Competition of Table Olives, agricultural presentations, children’s workshops, traditional games and more.

Admission fee for visitors is € 3 – the ticket will take part in a lottary where you can win some food buskets or some trip to ..eeehhh…. local products areas or something like that.
