How true! The city of Athens needs something nice, to rise above the dirt, the grey, the misery. Something nice like a Flower market. On the occasion of the Athens Flower Market (Kotzia Square, til June 5rd) blogger Athens Ville writes about the necessity of a permanent market to enjoy the citizens with colours and fragances.
As chances are thin that a permanent market will ever open in Athens downtown, you are good adviced to visit the current market and buy flower and herbs pots to decorate your home and balcony and forget about the depressing economic situation

According to Athens Ville, prices are excellent and you can have herbs for 1-2 euros, flowers and plants like jasmin for 5-8 euros and beautiful rose plants for 5-7 euros.
PS Aubergines,Zucchini, Green Peppers, Tomatoes and Radishes are indeed growing on my balcony. Basil, Oregano, Rosemary and Sage are doing best.
I still have to plant the seeds for Ruccola, Chives and Coriander….
