Public Poll: 75% Greeks say Government/Austerity Measures “Wrong”

Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Society

Greeks are getting more and more angry each and every day, feeling like hostages of  IMF/EU/ECB lenders and the government practices to incessantly raise direct & indirect taxes without a single planning to boost development, without any punishment of those who created the exonomic crisis and the huge debt. The mood of the citizens is being mirrored not only at the protests in more than 35 cities across the country, but also in puplic surveys conducted from time to time.

According to lastest poll by ALCO, that will be published tomorrow in weekly Proto Thema,

Greeks

- believe (75%)  that “the government measures are wrong”

- say ( 82%) that “they can’t stand more taxation”

- want (54% ) layoffs in public administration

- are against (75%) granting citizenship to migrants

The difference between the governing party PASOK (socialist) and main opposition Nea Dimokratia (centre-right) is at 0.3 percent!

More details, tomorrow.
