Athens June 28: Live Streaming & Blogging in English
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Society
Thousands Greeks have started to flock to Syntagma Square and take place in front of the Parliament. Protesters arrive in downtown Athens with the Metro, the one public transport mean operating during the 48-hours strike. There are two rallies planned for today. One in the morning with the participation of public and private sector labour unions. And one in the afternoon where also a music concert will take place.
Protesters from several parts of the country, like Corfu, Peloponnese or Thessaloniki, are expected to join the Athens rallies.
With a sound voice, slogans, banners and flags, labour unions and “Indignant” Greeks aim to influence lawmakers and avert them for voting for the Mid-Term Austerity Programme. The voting is scheduled for tomorrow, June 29.
The kick-off of a 48-hours general strike started at 8 o’clock in the morning with members of the Greek Communist party blocking ferries from sailing off from Piraeus port.

One day there will have to be an extensive research into the role those “known unknown” have played in the recent history of Greece… I am especially intrigued by the questions “Who controls them” and “What is their role in the downfall of Greece”.
Because every time something positive ‘threatens’ to happen, they arrive on the seen and any struggle is set back for a couple of years at least.
I know there are rumours about their identity and where a lot of them live…
…but there i guess most people are tattooed, i can’t see any tattoos on the footage
tattoes by this austerity? absolute No-No!
so it’s not the “known unknown”!
hwat’s the difference? if the known unknown are still free they are officially unknown
Nope, no tattoo here. At least not the last time I checked…
I do not think the Greek parliament have said enough to the Greek people regarding the alternative to the acceptance of Bailout2. It does not seem that real people understand the impact or exactly what that decision would mean in terms of ordinary life conditions.

I hope there will restart a peaceful debate on Syntagma Square this evening/night.
I wish and hope.
The “Hoodies” are a shame and it would be interesting, who they are and what they stand for…
To all greek super-rich, tax-evaders, oligarchs, tanker-owners,etc.
NOW you can show some solidarity ! Help to save your country, but you dont care. One day you’ll get what you deserve!
As Kipling said 100 years ago:
Since social progress began:
That the dog returns to his vomit
And the sow returns to her mire,
And the burnt fool’s bandaged finger
Goes wabbling back to the fire;
And that after this is accomplished,
And the brave new world begins,
When all men are paid for existing
And no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as water will wet us,
As surely as fire will burn,
The gods of the copybook headings
With terror and slaughter return.
The time for peaceful protest is over…if it takes 30k people to envelop the police and storm the parliament building so be it.
The government does not represent your interests. Papandreou must go.
