…and they were not even members of the “Indignant Greeks” movement! Fans of Panathinakos raise a huge banner during a soccer match on Saturday. The banner raised by the hard core fans of “gate 13″ was reading “Politicians – Hustlers – Parliament of the Settled Ones – The Anger of Rebels will drown you” .
The referee urged a break until the banner was down. There ahve been some detentions althought it was not clear who intitiated the action.
Fans of other soccer clubs raised banners also on Sunday.
It is the first time that banners will political content are raised during football matches in Greece. According to soccer rules such banners are not allowed and the match should be cancelled.
On Thursday, the second day of the protests, Olympiakos FC fans chanted “So f… you those who owe you!” to German Dortmund FC after a 3-1 win in karaiskakis
