Dispute Among Unionists Sends Athens-Metro-Union Chief in Hospital

When unionists argue on whether to strike or not, blood can start boiling especially given the series of austerity measures that drive Greeks mad and have them easily lose control over their temperament. Chief of the Athens Metro union and one more member were taken to hospital in Athens, after a dispute with their colleagues from the Urban Train HSAP. The Metro-unionists claimed the HSAP-union chief and some members attacked them with pepper spray.

The incident occurred at a meeting between several unions of workers at the Public Transport on rails. Some unions agreed on a strike for upcoming Wednesday, others disagree and at the end two went to the hospital.

PS As with this news we learned that there might be a strike on some public transport on Wednesday… I’ll keep you informed if there is a final decision on it.
