Anger is up in Greece again as the new circular of Finance Ministry foresees that the ‘solidarity tax’ (until 2014) and the ‘emergency property tax’ (until 2015) will be directly withdrawn from salaries and pensions month in, month out as of 1.1.2012. This will automatically decrease the income of the ‘usual idiots’ who come up for the state needs: the employees and the pensioners. Every day more and more ask and wonder why the Greeks do not react to the practices that deteriorate their lives on a daily basis. The new taxation system that lowered the cap from 12,000/8,000 euro to 5,000 euro yearly income will enforce even those with €6,000 to try to fill the state barrel without bottom with 100 EUR in taxes. Employees and pensioners will pay more €1,000 to €1,500 per year. Under the current labour circumstances that will be approximately two-months salaries!
Greece’s biggest insurance fund IKA announced it has found ways to pay pensions and Christmas allowances on December 16th. Even without the help of the sixth aid tranche. the money will come partly from the budget 2011.
A big bang was heard in Brussels last night, as the EU leaders did not manage to agreed as to how to achieve a solution to the euro-crisis. It looks as if the United Europe of 27 will end up in an 17+6 Un-United EU of the “Willing”. That is the 17 members of the Euro zone plus 6 EU members willing to join the €uro-club. Do you remember I told you they would not agree? Greece was practically absent form the negotiations as the point of view of the debt-ridden country does not seem to count much. So far there has not been even a comment form the Greek side. “We have to evaluate the situation first” government sources told Greek media.
A nice article for further reading by Economist : Pope Mario in euro-bordello !
The chief-gynaecologist of a public hospital in Athens was arrested for asking a bribe by a pregnant woman. The gynaecologist asked the mother-to-be to pay a ‘fakelaki’ of €1,300. That would be her additional payment for a caesarean childbirth. The low-income pregnant who had to make an advance payment of €1,700 to the hospital complained to the police. Fakelaki is called the bribe money given to public officials in an envelope. I think, we are very right, when we say that nothing changes in this country. Everybody looks and supports his own benefits…
In times of austerity the Athens municipality decided to refrain from the huge Christmas tree and find cheaper solutions. Elementary school children will decorate the bitter orange trees at Syntagma Square with lights and recycling ornaments. The official start of Christmas will be this evening at 6 pm.
Mayor Giorgos Kaminis will propose a law in order to restrict mass protests in downtown Athens. According to Kaminis, mass protests and riots hit badly retail commerce and tourism. He didn’t say thought how junkies, prostitutes, illegal immigrants and abandoned buildings harm the image of the Greek capital…
Greece is first in suicides within Europe. According to a survey by ”The Lancet”, Greece is first with 17% in the time 2007-2009. In the first five months of 2011, suicides skyrocketed at 40%.
A Nigeria Spam gang was arrested in Athens. The gang had its base in Patisia district and it was getting money by naive internet users through spam e-mails, claiming they had won huge amount of money.
Eight out of ten Greeks reject the new Papademos government. According to a poll conducted for private Skai TV, 81% of Greeks declared “dissatisfied” from the new government, while only 15% appeared “satisfied”. Political parties of the Left record an increased support of 37% in total, while Papandreou’s PASOK is down with 15.5%. Conservative Nea Dimokratia received 30% in the preference of the asked, but no political party would be able to form a 0ne-party government.
Fast-track divorces are on the way in the context of a more effective justice system. Interested in more details? Just tell me, and I’d maybe post more on the issue.
There is no need to count your euro. They won’t hatch. On the contrary…

Did you hear the rumour that Germany is printing D-marks again? And never destroyed the old ones either?
is it true? I still have 5 DM in coins… – my savings lol Tina, there are some scenarios that countries are rreadying to return to national currencies. but just rumors.
HAHAHA, think I throw the last coins out when I was in Denmark, cleaning up my old room…
Rumors yes.. But I wouldnt get a heartattack if it turns out to be true. Had a felling it was gonna happen all along..
Yes, I read quite recently that although on the launch of the Euro that those countries joining had to destroy all their old national currencies (it was mandatory), Germany alone kept all her D-marks and stashed them in the Bundesbank.

The only way to stop this is for everyone to stop work, period. What’s the point of working to give your hard earned to crooks, banksters and unelected bureaucrats.
Please give me some more information on the fast-track divorces.
if the divorce is on mutual consent you can avoid going to court, the marriage can be dissolved at a lawyer’s or notary’s office. Chech with your lawer -although I think the new regualtions are not in force yet.
