A female elementary school teacher has been detained in Chania, Crete, for allegedly seducing underage boys and contacting them through the Facebook. The investigation started after a parent complaint to Electronic Crimes Units of Greek police. The teacher approached the boys, aged 10-15 years, pretending she would be willing to tutor them. After gaining the confidence of boys, she developed “closer relations” to them with ‘adults’ only content… The police and prosecutor’s intervention managed to lift the secrecy of communications. The digital dialogue between the teacher and a 15-year-old boy stunned the police officers. The boy testified and told the whole story of his relation to the teacher that had started five months ago. The teacher’s computer revealed dozens of obscene images of people, of not specified age yet, and cyber dialogues of similar content.
The Electronic Crime Dept filed a case against the teacher with the charge of seducing minors. At the same time, police investigates 45 Facebook profiles of underage children and experts will be called in to find out whether the obscene images picture children or adults. (Cretalive.gr)
It is the third case of sexual abuse of school children by a teacher on the island of Crete in the last two months. In the other two cases, the teachers were male and abused boys and girls misusing their power as sports trainers. One of the child molesters committed suicide.
It looks as if the taboo to speak up and complaint about “sexually abused children” is breaking apart…
