What’s Up in Greece on Jan 31/12?

Snow and freezing temperatures are up in Greece even in sea coast of Athens. Several millions ( or was it billions?) snowflakes fell in the Greek capital and temperatures went down to -1 degree Celsius. The number of snowflakes looks as if it is equivalent to the Greek debt that put prime minister Lucas Papademos under pressure, last night in Brussels.

Greek emdia report that the EU leaders sent Papademos home with an ultimatum: The loan agreement for the second bailout and the PSI deal must both be completed until the end of the week (Feb 5, 2012). Tough negotiations between Greece and the Troika are to take place on a series of additional austerity measures. Under the leadership of IMF, Greece’s lenders demand wages cuts in the private sector, among others. This is rejected by the trade unions. Members of the parliament will be asked to vote for such a measure. Will they? that’s a big question that will threaten the coherence of Papademos coalition government.
