A Hot Weekend is up in Greece today, the second day of the general strike. Protesters getting ready to raise their voice against the additional austerity, government ministers and deputies trying to ready the new Memorandum of Understanding with Greece’s lenders. Thirteen memos of several hundreds pages. The crucial voting will take place tomorrow Sunday.

PM Lucas Papademos will address the Greeks via a televised message this evening.

6,000 policemen will protect politicians from the outrage of protesters. The mass protest is expected to take place tomorrow at 5 pm outside the Parliament.

Today’s protest meeting is scheduled for 11 am at Syntagma.

Due to the strike, no public transport is around except for the urban Train-HSAP.

50 members from the Greek Communist party (KKE) jumped over the fences and raised banners from the walls of Acropolis.

The parliamentary groups of socialist PASOK and conservative Nea Dimokratia will meet today to secure the voting in favor of the new MoU. Third government partner LAOS withdrew its four minister on Friday even if it still ‘supports’ Papademos government.
