Merkel in Athens: First Detention of the Day
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Society
The first ‘preventive’ detention of the day occurred outside the German embassy short before 10 o’ clock in the morning. A middle aged man, wearing the uniform of the Greek National Team and holding a poster of Angela Merkel and the Aphrodite of Milos with sticky finger arrived with his motorcycle at the German Embassy.
Greek policemen outside the embassy told him that he was not allowed to be there due to the high security measures. They asked his identification, but he refused to comply. Therefore, the man was taken to the nearest police station.
The incident was declared ‘the first detention’ of the salvation day 9. October 2012, when Merkel visits Athens.
Due to high security measures, police may proceed to preventive detentions.
The first risk factor of the day has been removed ….
