Greek Army Dismisses Claims “1,000 Soldiers Would be Part of Security Measures Forces during Oxi-Day Parades”

“The army has no involvement in security measures,” said Yiannis Sifakis, spokesman of Land Forces Chief of Staff on Friday. This statement dismisses claims raised by main opposition party, left-wing  SYRIZA that 1,000 troops would be part of the security measures forces during the 28. October military parade in Thessaloniki.
