Two mysterious incidents on Tuesday morning cause puzzling to Greek police especially with US President Barack Obama to drive up and down main roads in the city of Athens.
Police has found a bag containing seven fire bombs. The bag was found reportedly found near the cemetery of Nea Smyrni, a suburb of south Athens. Some media report that the bag was found near the Panionios stadium also in Nea Smyrni but far away form the cemetery.
Another incident is that suspicious material that can be used to make molotov cocktail bombs was stolen from a supermarket in the district of Exarchia which it known to “host” anarchists and anti-authoritarians. According to media, the perpetrators stole 20 kg of oil, alcohol, gas canisters and bleach.
Police suggests that the fire bombs – or molotov cocktails- were aimed to be used in downtown Athens during the commemoration of the Polytechnic Students’ Uprising on November 17th.
