A footage uploaded on internet shows the attempts of airline pilots to land an airplane at the small airport of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese group of islands in Eastern Aegean Sea. There were stormy winds blowing while the pilots tried to land the airplane. The video was uploaded earlier today so the flight was today or yesterday.
The pilots of Astra Airlines have twice tried to land the plane with winds to be stormy. Eventually the experienced pilots failed to land and the plane with the passengers returned to Eleftherios Venizelos airport in Athens. This is because the two pilots’ guiding principles were the safety of passengers and aircraft, the youtube user who uploaded the video noted.
By the way, one should note that the Kalymnos airport is quite small.
PS Anyone can speak about the stomach-dramatic experience when pilots land airplanes when strong winds are blowing….
