Drivers in Greece will have to pass new tests if they are 74 years old and above, then they will need to renew their driving license. They will have to prove that they still have the knowledge and the reflexes for safe driving.
According to a decision published by the Transportation Ministry on Tuesday, all drivers above 74 will have to undergo a basic driving test. They will have to repeat the test after three years.
Those above 80 years, will have to repeat the test every two years.
The driving tests exclude written exams.
The new regulations affects also those who have obtained their driving license in a foreign country.
Aim of the tests is to ensure that every measure is taken to guarantee safe driving and drivers’ protection, ministry officials told media.
