Greek media are on strike from April 7 to April 10. That is from Thursday 6:00 am until Monday 6:00 am there will be no news in television and radio. Sunday newspapers came out today, they will be on sale until April 10 and if you buy them on Sunday you will read the ‘news’ of April 5 & 6! You better buy them today and keep getting informed through the internet.
There is a huge discussion and quite some critical voices for the purpose of the four-days long strike. However the one and only journalists’ labor union ESHEA has decided so in order to protest lay offs and changes in collective bargains.
On the other hand as the ESHEA does not accept as members journalists working on the internet, the majority of the Greek portals, incl. those of newspapers, are not participating in the strike.
So more or else they will be some news, then things and sh** happen even if the journalists do not work.
Especially when the Troika-guys, currently in Athens, are holding crucial meetings for the future of the Greek debt economy.
Tomorrow, Friday, journalists will gather in Akadimias street at 12 noon and stage a rally towards the Greek Parliament.
