Greece’s New Gov’t: Swear In Postponed from 2 pm to 4 pm

01:00 pm Oath of new Greek Gov’t postponed from 2 pm to 4 pm. Kind of ‘little’ problems in the composition of the new Cabinet.

Three hours before the new Greek government takes oath and the staff of PASOK (Socialists), Nea Dimokratia (Conservative) and LAOS (far-right) add and delete names on the lists of the new ministers under Prime Minister Lucas Papademos. There has been no official announcement so far neither about the ministers, not about the distribution of ministries among the three political parties.

There is a lot of speculation about the ministers’ names, like Venizelos to remain Finance Minister etc.

The inauguration of the new government will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 11th, 2011.

AAfther the new government takes the oath, the new prime minister will get in touch with the Parliament speaker to arrange the announcement of the government programm and the vote of confidence.

On Thursday, following the official announcement by the Presidency of the Republic, Lucas Papademos stated: “The honour is great and the responsibility that I take is greater. I am not a politician, but I have spent most of my professional life in the pursuit of economic policy, both in Greece and Europe”.
