Thessaloniki: Ambulance Vehicles Protest Outside Greek FinMin’s Home

Several ambulance drivers parked the emergency vehicles outside the private residence of the Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos in Thessaloniki on Monday morning.  Fourteen ambulance vehicles are holding position outside the FinMin’s home, while six others work with security personnel for the emergency cases in the city. Workers at the ambulance service complain that they have not received payments for night and overtime work since last Augist. Despite assurance by the government, the workers still await to be paid. Furthermore, ambulance crew claim that they pay out of their own pockets to transport patients from outside the city boundaries.

Greek media reported that the money paid by ambulance crew are €1,000-1,500 per person.
