65% of Greeks disagree with prime minister Antonis Samaras’ decision to shutdown public broadcaster ERT -even though a new public broadcaster will replace ERT sometime in the future.

The survey was conducted among 1.001 respondents between 11-13 June 2013.
ERT shut down was announced in the afternoon June 11th, the signal disappeared from the TV screens one hour before midnight.
Three points that spring to mind:
1. Good to see that 65% of Greeks seem to support ‘kakistocracy’. And yes, that is a Greek word. 😉
2. It’s only natural, because without it there would be so little to fight about in the kafeneios every morning…
3. I still can’t believe that so many people are opposed to shutting ERT down. Whenever there was a TV on in a taverna or in peoples homes (and that was always 😀 ) 99% of them were tuned in on MEGA…
