A family tragedy: a mother beat her baby boy to death and put it in the deep freezer. When the father came home, she apparently put the corpse back in the baby bed to trick her husband. When the man felt the baby was ice-cold and asked his wife for explanation, he called the local police.
The woman was arrested and is expected to appear before court as soon as possible.
She has confessed her crime and reportedly told the police that she “beat the boy twice with her hands because it was crying and she threw it to the wooden daily playground”.
The baby boy did not survived the injuries.
Local media report that the family has also a pair of twins boys, 16 months old. The twins have been removed form the family home and were transferred to a local hospital for medical checks.
Child protection NGO ‘To chamogelo toy paidioy” issued a statement stressing that already last year, there were complaints about the safety of the children of this family.
Unconfirmed speculations describe the mother as drug addict.
The incident occurred in Alepochori village near Patras in North Peloponnese.
