Volos: homeless family, 5 kids camp outside tax office

Father unemployed suffering from heart disease. Mother without job. Five children – one of them still a baby. Apparently without a home. Seeking a way out of their misery and the deadlock. Giorgos Fitsiados took his wife Eleni, their five kids, packed his belongings, a tent and settled outside the tax office in Nea Ionia  area of Volos in Central Greece.

Anticipating some official, a clerk, a civil servant, anyone with some authority and power to be touched by the family plight and help the jobless parents and their kids.

Yes, there are families across the country struggling to get a piece of bread, a roof over their head.

Yes, right here, in beautiful Greece, the country of loan agreements with the esteemed International Monetary Fund..
