PAME unionists from several sectors like construction and clothing had launched a protest march to raise their voices against the increasing unemployment in Greece.
The protest coincided with the visit of German President Joachim Gauck in Athens with draconian security measures and the ban of demonstrations in the city’s center. But the protest was unrelated to Gauck’s visit.
Later, municipality unionists and teachers launched also a protest against the lay-offs in public sector.
