Ever wondered what would be the narrative about Greek crisis without the internet?

Have you ever wondered what would have been the narrative on Greece had the economic crisis occurred in Before Internet time? The world would have been much quieter even thought one cannot literally claim that the Internet is loud – though it certainly is metaphorically speaking.

Greek crisis the without the Internet: Less reporting, and almost no opportunity to check facts or have a quick and easy access to alternative point of views. But for sure also less hysteria and hyperbole, less bombardment with Doomsday scenarios and less lies about Greece and the Greeks. And less disinformation. An army of paid pens and Enter-button clickers would have absolutely no reason to exist in the Greek crisis internet-free world.

There would be no 1,259,753 articles and blog posts with the exactly the same title: “Greece cannot afford IMF repayment’ in June” and another 3,589,067 articles with the fantastic and original inscription “Grexit & Drachma“.

We would have escaped THE information overflow and lots and lots of disaster and pressure crap, the fear-mongering propaganda.

On the other hand, we, Greeks, we have been left exposed to the pro-Troika propaganda by our local mainstream media with no way out. We would have collectively committed suicide already in 2012.

There are certainly Pro and Contra arguments. What do you think?

PS I’m too Grexhausted to write down my Greek crisis After Internet pro argumentation. Or something like that…

I guess without internet this crisis wouldn’t have emerged and Papandreou would still be in Mégaro Maxímou, nobody would know about the December revolt and no ND would have taken the too expensive loans as a reaction to it, but if the first rescue package – the one without IMF/EU – would have been covered by big business taxes brought back from 20 to 42%, cuz the gifts to the bosses were equal to this first package.
