A young man from Syria was arrested on Tuesday on the island of Kalymnos of the Dodecannese group of islands. The man was reportedly arrested by the Greek Coast Guard due to involvement in a migrants’ trafficking ring.
But the Cost guard apparently found ‘suspicious’ pictures and videos on his mobile phone, with flags and symbols of the Isis as well as of heavy armament and battlefields in Syria.
Now a team of Intelligence police officers including an Arabic-speaking translator are heading for the island to investigate the case. They carry also a specific device to recover data from the man’s mobile phone.
Greek media report that the investigation will focus among others on the persons the man contacted in the recent days. (sources: here & here)
