Schaeuble hints Germany willing to allow Greece some leeway due to refugee crisis

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble hinted his country is willing to allow Greece some leeway as it struggles with the twins tasks of reforming the economy and caring for an influx of refugees.

“The financial situation is difficult,” Schaeuble told reporters at a Group of 20 briefing in Shanghai. “Greece is in the situation that it is receiving a lot of solidarity from Germany but not from all the others.”

Tensions over the handling of the region’s refugee crisis escalated on Friday as Greece denied an Austrian request for talks and the European Union’s top immigration official warned the deepening discord risks disaster. The divisions are widening ahead of an extraordinary summit of the EU’s 28 leaders on March 7 called to take stock of efforts to secure the bloc’s external frontiers and mitigate the influx of migrants.

“We are strongly fighting to combine the European tasks,” Wolfgang Schaeuble said of the refugee crisis and economic reforms in Greece. “Both come together.”
PS as the old Trojans used to say: Beware of German bearing gifts… At the end the whole of EU will load millions of refugees and migrants to the shoulders of Greece.

Mouzalas said it will not happen! This sounds exactly like the Belgians that got totally ignored outside of Greece with their “300.000 – 400.000 refugees near Athens”; surely someone was calling secretly from Greece “EU could rent Ellenikon”…. Given that this will become reality one would have to select refugees that like to stay closer to their former home but in the end Germoney must send their Transall-Lustwaffe to fly refugees out if they don’t like the idea that Greek ships will have to bring them to Europe. Merkel will be backed by German Syriza and the Greens, Vice Chancellor Gabriel already said it would be better if not but another million could be handled. Any way after RFK Jr brought this about Syria I guess that the Germans will boycott soccer worldchampshits in Arabia…

Greece could handle many refugees but not in a system and it’s market-bullshit that makes it senseless for Greeks to grow food, you can never beat the dumping prices of American corn grown on stolen Indian Land.

  2. Hey, Wolfie….I didn’t expect you to be so tender. What has become of you? Where has the old Wolfie, the one we all used to love, gone? No further help to these ugly greeks! They already have enough wonderful and perfectly working submarines, so that they can easily do the job
