“Germans want to keep Greece in the euro zone again” – That’s the title of German conservative daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung over the results of a survey among Germans. And adds “After left Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras took office, the majority of Germans were for Grexit. Now it’s different, the mood has changed.”

“About a year ago the majority of Germans had had enough of the Greek crisis – the new left-wing government of Alexis Tsipras just came into office. In a survey by the polling institute YouGov, the Statista has prepared for FAZ.NET, at that time almost 60 percent of Germans believed Greece should leave the monetary union (Grexit). As a result of the third aid package the mood changed, now significantly more Germans want that Greece remains in the euro,” FAZ comments thus without giving more data on the survey.
PS ah, who cares if the Germans want Greece in or outside the eurozone? How reliable is the survey in terms of motive of “mood change”? Is it he third bailout package? Really? or does it has to do with the fact, that now German media do not do Greek-Bashing anymore? Most probably, if you ask me.
A nonsense survey and non-issue. The German public wasn’t asked if it wanted the HARTZ reforms and what ever thoughts Germans have about Greece will not change the German governments line.
As you say, now Tsipras and Merkel are hand-in-hand on refugees….
summer’s holidays are close … after survey could change.
