Public and private sector unions will launch a 24-hour general strike tomorrow, Thursday, April 7th 2016. Public servants, doctors, teachers, workers in Ambulance, journalists but also air flight controllers will stay away from their working places in order to protest the upcoming Pensions Reform.
Flights from and to all Greek airports have been cancelled.
According to the air traffic controllers’ union, the strike will start at 00:01 after midnight, on early Thursday morning and will end on midnight on Thursday.
Exceptions to the decision will include air force flights, humanitarian aid, search and rescue and health emergency flights, as well as those transporting heads of state.
For the time being, it is not known, how the public transport means in Athens will operate. Check here later for updates.
The protest gathering is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at Klafthmonos Square in downtown Athens.
PS Better do some gardening tomorrow – and if no garden available, do some balconing 🙂
