At least 2,500 members of Greek police, security and anti-terror units, have already been deployed all along the way from Athens airport to the city center, where the Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit President Prokopis Pavlopoulos first and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras half an hour later. The Greeks will be assisted by 70 members of Putin’s special presidential security guard.
Three bullet-proof limousines will be underway, so that nobody knows which one transports the Russian president. The limousines have arrived from Russia a couple of days earlier.
Snipers are in position around the hotel where Putin and his delegation will spend the night in Athens.
Three F-16 fighter jets will “welcome” the aircraft of the Russian President once it enter the Greek FIR and will accompany the Ilyushin Il-96-300PU to Eleftherios Venizelos airport.

Traffic will be stopped on and off in the main streets of the Greek capital in the areas where Putin and his numerous delegation -among them 9 Ministers – will be.

The draconian security measures will be in effect until 10:55 a.m. Saturday when Putin will leave with a special flight form Thessaloniki and from there to Mount Athos. Patriarch of Moscow already arrived together with 40 bishops.
Putin and his delegation will leave Greece around 9 pm on Saturday.
