Workers at Athens Metro and Urban Train ISAP surprisingly announced that they launch a 24-hour strike tomorrow Wednesday, July 6th 2016. Workers of TRAINOSE and Proastiakos will join the 24-hour strike tomorrow.
According to a latest development, workers at the Tram will launch a work stoppage from 10 am until 2 pm and not a 24h strike.
The strike aims to protest the privatization of TRAINOSE and EESSTY that maintains the rail tracks.
In a statement, the workers stress that urban transport companies are the next to be privatized.
Workers at TRAINOSE and Proastiakos have already started work stoppages. Today, July 5th, and Thursday, July 7th they will be on work stoppage 5-8 am, 1-4 pm and from 9 pm to midnight. July 6th they will be on 24-hour strike.
When Proastiakos workers are on strike or work stoppage, Athens Metro stops at <Doukissis Plakentias> station and does not operate to/from Athens airport.
I missed Greek striking misery. It’s been too long! :))
Indeed, a symbolic misery of reformists, real strikes have no schedule and only end when governments and all institutions of state and repression resign; no state, no debts, no money, no system: power to the people!
As a starter it’s smart enough if Nicosia declares war to Greece and Greece gets a part of Great Cyprus: all debts are gone!
